As we celebrate Black History Month, I am reminded of the powerful legacy of Black women entrepreneurs who have paved the way before me. Being a Black woman business owner is more than just running a company—it is about embodying resilience, innovation, and excellence in facing challenges. It is about creating opportunities for other Black women, uplifting those around me, and ensuring that the next generation knows that success is unlimited.
When I founded Heaven Scent Collective, my vision extended far beyond crafting high-quality home fragrances and body care products. I wanted to build a brand that reflected authenticity, creativity, and community. Every candle I pour and every product I create are infused with the same dedication and passion that my mother, grandmother, and aunts poured into their lives and work. Their strength and perseverance continue to inspire me, and I carry their legacy with me as I carve out my path.
Entrepreneurship is about more than just business—it is about leading with purpose. It is about being intentional in my work, ensuring that my brand not only represents me but also stands as a beacon for other Black women who dream of building something of their own. Through Heaven Scent Collective, I strive to offer not only beautifully crafted products but also an experience that fosters connection and empowerment.
I take pride in creating opportunities for others, whether through collaborations with local Black vendors and photographers or by sharing my knowledge and experiences with those looking to enter the world of entrepreneurship. Representation matters, and I am committed to showing that success is attainable, creativity is limitless, and we as Black women belong in every space we choose to step into.
This Black History Month, I celebrate not only my journey but also the countless Black women who have shaped industries, broken barriers, and uplifted communities. My work is a testament to the power of Black women, past, present, and future, and I will continue to build, inspire, and lead with intention and purpose.
I love this, you rock!
