Dear Heaven Scent Family,
I hope this message finds you well and inspired!
As I sit and reflect on the past few weeks, I’m filled with gratitude and pride for the moments we’ve shared. I’m excited to highlight two special events that have touched my heart, and I can’t wait to share them with you.
B.O.S.S. Up Series: Empowering Women in Business
I had the incredible honor of being a panelist for the B.O.S.S. Up Series, hosted by The Blakk Co. This event was extra special because I’ve been collaborating with founders Christina and Tamala since 2020, when I introduced them to my Flame Collection. The intentionality behind every event The Blakk Co. curates never ceases to amaze me, and this event was no different.
As a panelist, I had the privilege of sharing my journey as a candle maker and a proud Black woman business owner. It’s moments like these that remind me of how essential creativity, resilience, and community are in fueling entrepreneurship. I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to sit alongside other inspiring women and discuss the impact we’re making, the challenges we’ve overcome, and the legacy we’re building for future generations.
Women Who Inspire Candle Making: Celebrating Women in History
Just as meaningful was our Women Who Inspire Candle Making event in honor of Women’s History Month. This was a heartwarming experience where I had the opportunity to match fragrance notes to iconic women in history. Our most popular scent, Michelle’s Grace and Grit, in tribute to Michelle Obama, was a beautiful blend of sandalwood, jasmine, and amber—just as graceful and powerful as the woman herself.
What made this event so special was the opportunity to bring women together in a creative space to celebrate not only these historical figures but also the women in our lives who inspire us. Watching everyone pour candles while sharing stories, laughter, and reflections was a powerful reminder of why I started this journey—to uplift, empower, and create spaces where we can all shine brighter. It was a joy to see how much this event meant to each participant, and I’m filled with gratitude for the love and energy everyone brought to the room.
Looking Forward to the Future
As I reflect on these experiences, I am reminded of how far we’ve come—and how much more lies ahead. There’s a beautiful energy around Heaven Scent Collective right now, and I’m so excited to continue building this community with you.
Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and love. It means the world to me!
P.S. If you missed out on the B.O.S.S. Up Series or the Women Who Inspire Candle Making event, stay tuned for more exciting events and new opportunities to join us!
With much love and appreciation,
Lori Mitchell Founder, Heaven Scent Collective
